In der richtigen Reihenfolge \u00fcbereinandergelegt, werden sie entlang der F\u00fcgekante gestanzt, d. h. mit einer Reihe rechteckiger L\u00f6cher versehen. Durch diese werden schlie\u00dflich die Bindeelemente gef\u00fchrt. Dazu wird ein Spiraldraht mit hintereinanderliegenden Windungen eingezogen und dessen Enden eingebogen. So wird ein Ausdrehen der Spirale bei Gebrauch vermieden. Im Gegensatz zur Spiralbindung, bei der der Draht nur einfach durch die Stanzungen gef\u00fchrt wird, liegt er bei der Wire-O-Bindung also doppelt vor.<br \/>\nBestimmte Produkte k\u00f6nnen auch an einer kombinierten Stanz-Binde-Maschine hergestellt werden. Die Spirale kann \u00fcber die gesamte L\u00e4nge des Bundstegs verlaufen oder, beispielsweise f\u00fcr Kalender, in der Mitte durch einen Aufh\u00e4nger unterbrochen sein. Um ein Ausrei\u00dfen der Seiten m\u00f6glichst zu verhindern, sollte f\u00fcr die Wire-O-Bindung eine relativ starke Grammatur benutzt werden. Daher und dank ihrer Robustheit ist auch die Zahl der Anwendungsm\u00f6glichkeiten relativ gro\u00df. Von Magazinen und Brosch\u00fcren \u00fcber Speise- und Getr\u00e4nkekarten bis hin zu Schulungsunterlagen k\u00f6nnen Sie so alles drucken lassen, was mehrfach verwendbar sein soll. Denn die Wire-O-Bindung ist \u00e4u\u00dferst stabil und in Verbindung mit dem entsprechend starken Papier und einem sch\u00fctzenden Umschlag lange haltbar. Ein Hauptanwendungsgebiet sind darum auch Kalender.
